The Air Max 90 is an icon of Nike’s vast back catalogue and one of its most popular lifestyle sneakers. In 2024, this unique silhouette was elevated to new levels with the release of a women’s exclusive model known as the Nike Air Max 90 LV8.

This bold reworking of the classic shoe features a familiar upper, with the same exaggerated mudguard, layered overlay structure and Striped TPU panelling. On the LV8 model, these various sections are made from a blend of high-quality materials such as suede, textiles and leather, delivering an intriguing variation of textures.

The most distinctive thing about the Air Max 90 LV8 is its platform midsole, which incorporates not one, but two Air Max units. These have been stacked atop one another for increased height and enhanced comfort, while soft foam fills the rest of the midsole for a pleasant underfoot experience. An enlarged TPU cassette has been used to frame the both windows, giving it the same bold look as the original.

Updated branding reflects this dual window design, firstly on the heel tab, which features two bars that mirror the doubled-up Air Max unit alongside the word “Air”. This motif repeats on the outsole, where it has been debossed into the smooth area below the heel. Waffle grip pads provide traction to the forefoot, while ribbed sections around the edges of the heel and toe keep things steady across the whole outsole.

Generously plush padding supports the ankles and heel with a low-cut profile that creates a sleek look up top. Meanwhile, the elegant, looping tongue patch has been etched with Nike Air Max branding for a classy touch.

With its boosted stature and extra cushioning, the Nike Air Max 90 LV8 brings a whole new sense of style to this heritage sneaker while still maintaining the captivating charisma of the original.
