Jordan 11 Retro
"Win Like 96"
This striking Jordan 11 Retro is known as Win Like 96 as it was made to honour the Chicago Bulls’ 1996 championship victory, which came at the end of a record-breaking season. Jordan himself wore the AJ11 throughout this period, so the sneaker is both a fitting tribute to that win and an homage to that iconic model. It features the classic translucent outsole as its base, here with a hint of cool white infused through it. Bright Gym Red sections lined with herringbone grip patterns appear more opaquely in the forefoot and heel, while the black and grey carbon fibre shank plate can be seen between them through the middle of the foot. In its centre is a black Jumpman, whose white outline makes the silhouette stand out clearly behind the see-through outsole. On the medial side of the midfoot, the grid pattern of the carbon fibre plate can be seen more clearly as it sticks out beyond the edge of the outsole. Above this is a clean white midsole forged from soft Phylon foam, its interior padded out with bouncy Air cushioning from heel to toe.
Next up is the Gym Red patent leather mudguard, its gleaming surface wrapping around the entire shoe for a powerful look. The same vibrant shade of red continues across the rest of the upper, covering the ballistic mesh over the top of the foot and the tongue, as well as the premium leather heel panel. It then extends inside the shoe to coat the plush lining and the insole, which has a black Jumpman stamped onto it. The material that has been used on the inner walls then spills out over the heel, creating a tab there for the number 23, which shows up in black.
The shoe’s integrated lacing system, which consists of six strips of fabric on either side of the upper, comes in Gym Red as well. Loops formed at the end of each piece of material secure the Gym Red laces in place, and more black branding lies over the centre of the tongue in the form of black Jordan and Jumpman text along with another logo. This eye-catching colourway is then rounded off with one more of these leaping emblems as a black Jumpman silhouette has been artfully embroidered into the lateral heel for a final bold flourish.
