Jordan 1 Mid

The legendary colour scheme of this Jordan 1 Mid has been combined with an unforgettable colour-blocking style to create a bold design nicknamed Chicago Black Toe after the two early colourways that inspired its look. Its rubber outsole incorporates just one of the three tones to be found across the sneaker as black coats it from heel to toe, moving from the grippy lugs below the rear of the foot past the Nike-branded middle section through to the concentric rings under the forefoot and finally on to the star-embossed toe cap. While this provides the wearer with excellent underfoot traction, the white midsole has been filled with a blend of foam and Air cushioning for a comfortably soft step.

On the upper, premium leather panels take the black and white of the sole unit and add them to the third and final tone to decorate this sneaker: Gym Red. This rich hue shows up on the forefoot overlays, the eyestay, the heel counter and the collar wrap, while white highlights the midfoot panels and tongue, and black marks the toe box and collar. Black swooshes then emerge from a rectangle of Gym Red leather located in the centre of the heel to reach down the flanks, thus creating a powerful contrast against the lighter-coloured material layered beneath.

The shoe’s inner is mostly black as even the back of the tongue takes on this dark tone, but the patch sewn into this last piece and the Jumpman printed onto the insole are notable exceptions to it. Soft black fabric spreads up the inner lining to deliver even more comfort to the wearer, before a Gym Red label accents the top of the tongue. A black Jumpman logo has been woven into this vibrantly coloured label, and the word “Air” written below it. Underneath this, black laces supply more tonal variation against the white of the tongue, and even further down, the toe box is decorated with a fan of perforations for added breathability throughout the forefoot. Lastly, another eye-catching emblem has been stamped into the lateral collar wrap in the form of a pair of black Air Jordan Wings, which provides a compelling conclusion to this memorable Air Jordan 1 design.
